Shasta Visions is a small company based in Mt. Shasta California that produces interesting marbles, Jewelry, and Embedments (paperweights) with the image of the continents bonded to crystal or recycled glass.

Being located in Tucson, Arizona, we often find items locally which may not be available in other parts of the world. One source is the annual Gem and Mineral Show in February of each year.

We found these Crystal Globes at this years Gem Show. Although we do not carry all of the sizes pictured, they are available with a minimal amount of lead time. We do carry in stock the 60mm with Brass Base at $49.95 each, and 40mm, 50mm, and 60mm with the Plexiglas Base ($19.95 for 40mm, $29.95 for 50mm, and $39.95 for 60mm)

The Magnabrite Magnifier is a Light Gathering Magnifier, produced by Visual Aid Labs in Garland Texas. The Magnabrite magnifies images about 4X but it also gathers in light making the image appear brighter as well. We have had people tell us that the Magnabrite has helped people with Macular Degeneration and Retinitus Pigmentosa (please note. they say that it has helped, we in no way state that it does help.) But we have also have had people tell us that it is good for reading maps by the dashboard lights in the car, when the printing on the map is too small to read comfortably. (Cab drivers love it!) We have and still carry other magnifiers but none seem to generate the interest that the Magnabrite does. Possibly the best Magnifier ever made. Price is $24.95 each. Size is 64 mm in diameter.

Our buyer also found some interesting Semiprecious Stone Globes. These globes are 3.5 or 4.5 inches in diameter and stand about 6 to 8 inches tall. The Globe is a Lapis Blue (supposedly made with lapis chips) and the individual countries are made of Semi-Precious Stones that reportedly representative of minerals commonly found in each country. There appears to be Turquoise, Red Sandstone, Jade, Snowflake Gneiss and others. The Globe stands are either Brass Colored or Copper colored. Prices for the Smaller Globes are $129.95. Prices for the 4.5" Globes are $159.95.

In the front of the picture is a Semi-Precious Stone Globe with Black Oceans and a Gun Metal colored Stand. We think that the Black for the Oceans is probably Jet. Price for this Globe is $199.99

.And while not specifically map oriented, we found these Southwest Golf Ball Markers made by Zuni and Navajo artists in Gallup, New Mexico. Made of Turquoise, Jet, Shell, and Sterling Silver, they are $30.00 each.
